When you’re starting a website as an affiliate marketer the most often asked question is “what should my niche be?”. The truth is there is no wrong answer. But a good start is always the “evergreen” niches for affiliate websites.
What is an evergreen niche you ask? It is a niche that demand will always be there and probably will never decrease. A few big ones would be fitness, healthy living or a video gaming niche.
An evergreen niche is not about fads or what’s currently popular. If you started an affiliate website about fidget spinners you’d be having problems right now. Demand was high at the last half of 2017 and now is non-existent.
Remember, there is not a successful niche website that does well without you putting the time and effort into it.
The perfect niche for you is the niche you can still be interested in talking about after 6 months, a year or longer. Or it can be a niche you want to learn more about because you will be doing research and answering questions about that niche.
But, there definitely are niches that work better than others. Niches that involve items in the $30 to $60 range seem to do better than costlier items. And lower costs items don’t pay you that much. And if the niche is something that always seems to be in demand that will help too.
However, if you’re still stumped for a good niche I would suggest a niche that is popular right now and will be popular for the foreseeable future.
A list of Evergreen niches for affiliate websites:
What started out as a “healthier” version of cigarettes has now become very popular.
Not only are former cigarette smokers using them, high school and college age kids are buying them.
You’re not allowed to sell to minors in the U.S. so you might need to add an age verification plugin to your site but getting a customer at that age will provide a customer for some time. Vape affiliate programs usually have commissions in the 10-20% range.
This is quite possibly one of the best evergreen niches to get into because there is a constant influx of new beauty items. And there is always a customer base that is trying to improve their looks.
If I knew anything about it I would do a niche website on it.
Because every company is always trying to convince the public that their newest thing will make you beautiful or attractive. What this leads to is women’s yearly spending amounts on beauty products to about $3,700 on average.
People usually stick with the same brand of makeup throughout their life. This means to you that recurring income and customers. Demand and interest is high and doesn’t decrease as you can see from the chart below.
Pet products & services
According to a recent survey 65% of U.S. households have a pet and worldwide 57% of consumers own pets.
So you can see the potential of success for getting into this niche.
It would be hard to find another niche with this much customer base.
Pet owners buy food, toys, leashes, furniture and more for their pets online. They also research veterinarians, kennels, groomers and trainers online before making a final decision.
This niche is not going anywhere and will stay popular for a while. Pet lovers are always going to want to get the cutest new thing for their chihuahua or husky.
Healthy Living & Fitness
This niche includes everything related to health and being healthy. There are many ways you can use this niche for your website.
Things that fall under this niche are fitness, eating, weight loss, food preparation, stress reducing, vegetarians, meditation, yoga, detoxifying, keto diets – you get the idea.
The list is literally endless when people are searching for ways to get and stay healthy and stress free. This is also one of the best evergreen niches because health, along with the beauty niche, will always be popular and not decrease.
Security cameras, security systems and video doorbells you install yourself.
These electronic and technology companies have made the installation and setup virtually idiot proof.
It can range from companies like Brinks that send you a security system you install but they monitor. Or a video doorbell that you monitor from anywhere or the comfort of your living room.
Dating & Relationships
Dating or relationship matching searches has been growing strong for years. While some of those smartphone based apps get all the social media attention, the “match you with your soulmate” websites get the ones that are serious about looking for a relationship.
Not only could you review these and other websites, it could be a blog with relationship and dating advice.
People are always looking for love and dating matchups, this niche shows no signs of slowing down.
There has been an increase in the diagnosis and treatment of mental health in the last 10 to 15 years. And with it, the search online for answers and help went up also.
There are many different types of mental health that make up this niche. Stress, depression, anxiety, PTSD, to name just a few.
There are a lot of people that need this help. And as it has become more accepted in society the higher the demand for help and treatment becomes.
Survivalists, preppers, doomsday preppers. This is a niche for people who are prepared or getting prepared for disasters, emergencies, or some kind of an upheaval, civil, social or political.
Survivalists spends their money getting prepared. They buy knives, other weapons, gas masks, packaged foods, water filtration systems, temporary and permanent shelters and survival kits. And anything else that someone might need to prepare for the apocalypse.
I know of someone who started a survival knife website and is making more than $3,000 a month. The survival niche has become a billion dollar business.
Video games, the systems they’re played on, the accessories and their collectibles. It all amounts to over $100 billion a year industry.
This niche would also include those massive multiplayer online games. And the virtual reality equipment that is becoming more mainstream.
You could also include the smartphones and their gaming apps. People spend a lot of time on their phones and tablets playing games too.
There is always a segment of society that is either looking for a job because they are unemployed or looking for a job for advancement, more money, shorter commute, etc.
As you can see from the graph below, the trend stays in the same high range except for round the Christmas holidays.
There are many ways to go with this niche because it is such a broad scope of things that can contribute to a job search.
These are the best evergreen niches and that means they won’t see a drop in demand for quite a long time or maybe never. If a niche can fall into one of the three main categories – love, income and health – it will always be in demand.
Most of these you could drill down deeper and get even get more specific. Instead of healthy living you could do a niche on weight loss or vegetarianism. Or drill down the jobs niche for an over the age of 50 job search or finding remote work, which people looking for remote work is big right now.
